Since I was born and raised in Tokyo, I couldn’t share much time with my grandfather who lived his life in Taiwan. This work consists of the two different records. The one in which my grandfather captured the family from his perspective and had been kept in Taiwan, and the other one I recorded in Taiwan shortly after his death.

A video as an extension of a photograph, a photograph cut out from a video. This work presents the choreography of changing from video to photograph and back again. There exists a quest for a sense of time and visual discomfort of these boundaries. The creator choreographs a new dance from this media and sets apart bodily expression clad in its own fascination.

連続した写真としての映像、映像から切り取られた写真。本作では、スクリーンの中で映像から写真、写真から映像へと移り変わる時に起こる振付の変容を提示し、映像と写真の境域にある時間感覚や視覚的違和感を探求する。メディアと作家により新たに振付られたダンスは、生の身体表現とは解離した固有の妖艶さを纏う。

私達の記憶は、ヴェールにつつまれている。流れている時間を留めるようにレンズを通して記憶に焼きつける。空間、レンズ、目、それらがヴェールとなって、お互いの網目を補うように親密に重なっていく。
